MIDAS Workplan
The project is structured in Work Packages (WPs).

WP1 : TTR France ensures the project management of MIDAS, i.e. the coordination between the partners and between the consortium and the European Commission, the reporting tasks, the elaboration of management tools, the agendas and the minutes of the meetings.
WP2 : The urban plans and planning processes of the 6 cities are compared and contrasted with a view to understanding local barriers to improving energy efficiency and the potential contribution of soft measures to help achieve the goals of the plans.
The main deliverable of this work package was published in February 2007 and can be downloaded here: Report on Land-use Strategic Plans and Soft Measures Potential.
Cork County Council leads this WP.
WP3 : In each site take place case studies, involving implementation of one or more elements of each city plan, and consider how best to involve a broad range of stakeholders and to make them aware of sustainable mobility issues, including both formal working groups and informal methods e.g. one-to-one discussions with individual developers.
The main deliverable of this work package was published in July 2007 and can be downloaded here.
The SMTC of Clermont-Ferrand leads this WP.
WP4 : a variety of soft measures are introduced to encourage transfer to less energy-intensive modes among a number of specific target groups. Tools include promotional campaigns, car-pooling and car-sharing schemes.
The main deliverables are:
- user requirements analysis and definition of marketing tools;
- report on travel awareness and marketing materials use;
- report on mobility management measures implemented;
- the municipality of Aalborg leads this WP.
WP5 : POLIS (European cities and regions networking for innovative transport solutions) ensures the training activities related to MIDAS, in order to transfer the project experiences and outcomes to other European local authorities, mainly the non-members states, taking into account the local contexts and actors.
The main deliverables are:
- a MIDAS session in conjunction with a POLIS environment & health working group meeting;
- the production of resources packs, as training materials for the workshops and seminars, that will evolve all along the project to a final complete version, transferable to other European cities
WP6 : includes the evaluation process and reporting: each site has to assess the local context before and after its local project implementation, through a variety of quantitative and qualitative indicators. TTR is in charge of this WP and supports the partners in the evaluation plan local implementations and the site reporting.
WP7 : gathers the dissemination activities: communication about MIDAS through press articles, conferences, workshops presentations. TTR is in charge of this WP: production of the MIDAS promotion material (leaflet, newsletter, website.) and support to the sites in the dissemination plan local implementations.
WP8 : gathers the dissemination activities linked to the Intelligent Energy for Europe Programme: IEE Agency (weblink) and Managenergy (weblink) websites, participation to conferences organised by the IEE Agency. Merseytravel is in charge of this WP.
